I've always thought that Roger was singing to his wife or girlfriend
and the fact that she reached for his shvonz even though he wasn't
ready to have sex yet. His penis was what he wanted to keep secret.
"You cried for the moon"- when she realized that she wasn't going to
get the big bango from Roger that night, horny as she was, she broke

I've always had that belief. That Syds quest to "reach" other areas
lead to his downfall. Acid, at the time Syd and countless others were
taking it, was still legal, and was used as part of psychoanalis. The
drug was thought to break down barriers to the subconscious mind to
help the person get in touch with hidden feelings and thoughts....Cary
Grant partook in such analysis....didn't hurt him, but he didn't take
LSD as if it were candy....

It is strongly believed now in neuro / psychiatric circles, that a
genetic predisposition is needed for acid to bring on schizophrenia.
Would Syd have progressed to schizophrenia without using acid?
Probably. The acid likely sped up and exacerbated the process.

Yes, the schiz would have came about anyway. It usually shows up in
late teens or early twenties. A traumatic event usually brings it on- a
bad acid trip could definitely be categorized as a traumatic event!
