I went to see Roger at Montréal's Bell Center, 2 days ago.
I really enjoyed the show. Compared to ITF tour, he only performed a handful
of solo songs.
Not that I don't like his solo stuff but most people expected a lot of PF
music and nobody was disappointed.
Set The Control of The Heart Of The Sun, in particular, kicked serious ass.
Montréal's audiences have the reputation to show a lot of appreciation to
the artists. Roger acknowledged it and you could see he was enjoying himself
on stage.
The only weak point for me was Dave Kilminster. I missed Doyle Bramhall III.
Kilminster is a good guitarist but wasn't as comfortable playing Dave's
notes as Bramhall was.

The main difference between Kilminster and Bramhall is that Kilminster plays
Gilmour's solos note for note. He doesn't really add his own spin on
things. Bramhall did his own thing. I saw Bramhall in 1999 and I enjoyed
him more than Kilminster.

That said, I think this current tour blows his ITF tour out of the water.
The last tour didn't have the awesome set, backdrops, pyro, and props. And
hearing DSOTM played live is an amazing experience.

I liked the ITF tour better because of the backup singer babe that's married
to one of the guitarists, not so much lip synching, and the ticket price was
fair. Oh, and Roger had some semblance of a voice back then.

She was the weakest of the 3 singers.

not so much lip synching
Rog has been lip synching since 1984. In fact, he lip synched 90% of the
Pros and Cons album live.

And he did lip synch during the ITF tour.

There really isn't that big of a difference. In 1999, I paid $35 and I can
get the same price for this tour.

Not really.

Also the youngest. I believe PP Arnold and Katie Kissoon are pushing 60
(which makes it all the more amazing that PP Arnold can still belt out the
solo on Perfect Sense).

Agreed. Her voice is still phenomenal.

Hell of a job on Great Gig, too.

Actually, Carol Kenyon sings Great Gig. She does a good job, but I don't
think her voice is big enough. Clare Torry's version on the album remains
definitive, though her voice has been gone since 1990 (she murdered the song
at Knebworth).

If Kilminster was trying to play Gilmour's solos note for note, he
failed.... Well,
this past Thursday evening, at least, he did.

I didn't really care all that much about all that stuff.

This tour did not have the pyro in the early stages. I have DVD
bootlegs of Rock in RIO and Cork, Ireland. Neither of them had any
pyro. Saw the show in Detroit and my opinion was that I liked the ITF
set better. Kilminster is good, but I prefer Bramhall. You know what
they say....opinions are like a$$ holes...everyone has one.

Bullshit. They even boo their own NHL club.

Bullshit. They even boo their own NHL club.

Only audiences of teams who never won the Stanley cup never boo their team.
So, Montreal has the audience that most boo their team because they have the
team that won the most numerous championships in the world of professional
sport, even more than dynasties like the New York Yankees and the Boston's
Celtics. Big winners have big expectations, that's natural.

Roger acknowledged it and you could see he was enjoying himself
