New album cancelled for good ?

So when did we last hear about the "new album" ? Was it from that
blazing guitar player (whose name escapes me right now, ah yes Doyle
Bramhall Jr) in 2002, when he saif 5 new songs had been
recorded...happy to coast on his legend then, well judging by the
quality of his songs since 1992, might be jus as well...
